Added to this the heady brew, was the heavy industrial-dub album we debuted last week: "Magnetic Learning Center" from Teledubgnosis on Wordsound. This is one for dubheads who like d-e-e-p cavernous pounding beats and electronic mayhem. But don't get me wrong, it's not all heavy banging, smashing stuff; some of it builds slowly from subtle soundscapes and layers of exotic sounds. A very definite winner from the great Crooklyn Wordsound label. |

With Teledubgnosis, it's all about rhythm. Not surprising with heavyweights Ted Parsons (Godflesh, Prong, Swans) and Tony Maimone (Pere Ubu, Mekons, Golden Palominos) in the ranks. Ill electronics, hands-on dub-effects. Teledubgnosis is reminiscent of the golden generation of Adrian Sherwood, Bill Laswell and King Tubby. |
This is a double cd set -- CD 1 represents the ambient bass lows and sound track spaciousness of Teledubgnosis, and CD 2 features the hard, adrenaline industrial funk of N.I.C.
